Irina (formerly known as Laura) returns to her hometown for her brother's wedding. For several years now, she has distanced herself from her rural family and established herself as a writer in Copenhagen. She has just published a book about her miserable youth, where she in particular writes about her former bully Catrine - the same woman who will now marry her brother and become part of her family.
